Boarding School
The boarding school is for half-orphans and orphans in Dubossary and is located on the eastern bank of river Dnjepr. Over 200 children between seven and 17 years of age are taught in the general school subjects as well as in social and practical skills. There is no similar school in Moldova and therefore it attracts students from Transnistria (although separated from Moldova) and from Moldova itself.
KALOS supports this school with donations. In addition to meeting the general needs of everyday life, we also give the children “Sweet Bags” at Christmas and Easter, which has become a highly appreciated tradition. Furthermore, members of a local church offer bible study. They impart biblical values and stories to the children without favouring any particular denomination. The positive effect that our support has on the children’s personalities and abilities is encouraging.
